almost a week later...

and we still aren't up to par around here. Poor Presley! We tried eating normal food on Tuesday and that just resulted in well, more sickness. Presley finally got to drink milk and eat some oatmeal this morning. You would have thought that I had never fed her before! She kept pointing to the bowl and saying "ohmeal, mmmm!" over and over again! It was kinda sad! I really, really hope that this weekend is better than our last one!

bubbles and a stomach bug

We did not have a good Saturday yesterday. Presley started throwing up at 11 am. I thought it was just a fluke at first, but then she couldn't hold anything down later and had a 102.6 temp. Poor honey! I know she felt awful because she just laid on the couch with Jeremiah sucking her pappy. She stayed up last night until 10 because I was scared she wasn't done with the vomiting yet. We kept asking her if she was ready to go to bed and she said no until 10! Thankfully when she went to sleep then, she slept all night. Poor baby didn't wake up until 10 am. She's been better today....she has actually held down cheerios and some pedialyte. I am sick of watching Yo Gabba Gabba though! ;)

We went outside and played for about 15 minutes yesterday before we realized that it was a full on stomach bug. Presley enjoyed the bubbles. But boy did she go downhill quickly. A short time later she was so sickly and puny.

I love how she's pointing in these first two pictures!

back to business

Sorry we've been MIA in the blogging world! I just know y'all missed us so much! ;) I have pretty much been in bed all weekend with an awful case of bronchitis. It started Wednesday night at work and just hasn't let up so I went to the doctor this morning. I started antibiotics today and I feel a little bit better tonight. Hopefully I'll feel a lot better tomorrow, because I'll be headed into work regardless! Jeremiah has been a saint! He completely took over the mommy job, and let me tell ya, that ain't no easy role to fill! Ha ha! ;) He did a GREAT job taking care of me and Presley this weekend! Thanks honey! We love you!

So now on to Presley's month post, which is almost a week late....

1/1/11

Poor Presley spent New Years sick! Not that she even knows or cares what New Years is, but still I felt bad for her. I'm not sure if it's a cold or just allergies. I'm leaning more toward allergies because her eyes are watering and her nose is running, but that's it. I gave her some Claritin yesterday and again today and she seems a little better. Her eyes watering makes her look so sad though! I hate seeing it!

On top of that, Presley has a cold sore on her bottom lip. I have no clue where she got it from. Maybe someone kissed her that has them or she could have gotten it from the church nursery. Either way it makes me want to smack somebody for giving it to my baby and now she'll never get rid of the virus that causes them. :( Oh and icing on the cake....she's teething! Her molars are SO swollen in her little gums. Presley has been such a trooper through it all. We went shopping yesterday and she hung in there all day! I know, we're awesome parents aren't we? ;)

& I promised pictures from last night so here they are.

Here is the AWESOME cross picture Karri gave me! I absolutely love it! Our friend Holli's mom made it. She totally sells them at a gallery in her hometown. And I am now the proud owner of one! =)

I had to hang it up immediately. It now has a permanent home in the foyer!

something you never get used to

is your baby being sick. :( Poor Presley has had a fever of 102 or greater for 3 days now. We went to see Dr. P this morning and she said it's probably just something viral. She said she has seen Fifth disease (parvo virus) going around the community and it's been really bad this year. I don't know if many of you remember or not....but that's what I was exposed to when I was 14 weeks pregnant and had to go the the high risk OB for 3 months for weekly ultrasounds to make sure Sweet Pea was ok. NOT fun! Dr. P said that the fever has been lasting 3-5 days, then an awful rash appears 1-2 days after that. Even though there is not much we can do about it, I'm still glad we when to the doctor. Because I would have FREAKED out when I saw a monster rash on my baby!

& in other news, Presley is now pointing with one finger and saying "tha" to pretty much, everything. It's pretty cute! I'm sure I won't be thinking that later on! ha!

invisible bugs?

I know these pictures are crazy blurry. But it was the best I could do with Presley squirming like mad. I have no idea where these bumps are from. Jeremiah thinks they are from playing in the grass yesterday, but I'm just not convinced. They were not present until I got back home this afternoon from seeing a movie. So I think that time period is too long for them to show up if it was really the grass. I am baffled. Presley isn't acting like they are bothering her though. So I guess that's good. I really hope they are gone by the morning, because they are awful to look at. :(

shoes, among other things

Aren't these shoes just adorable? Miss Presley got them yesterday when we went to Target. She said she needed some cute summer sandals to make her feel better! And Mommy just can't say no to any accessory! Presley was so funny trying them on. She kept flexing her toes and moving her ankles around....I guess they felt weird on her feet!

Presley is feeling a little bit better, I think. She is still tossing and turning and waking up a bit at night. But overall, she's less fussy during the day and eating better! I am really glad that this didn't last as long as it could have.

And lastly, Presley has started doing the cutest thing at bath time. She stands up at the edge of the tub while I run the water. When I turn the water off, I guess she knows it's time to get in. She starts picking at her clothes, pulling them up. It's like she is trying to pull them off! And then when her clothes are off, she starts pulling at her diaper! Ha ha! I'm sure that she really knows what she's doing. It's just hard to remember sometimes that my baby is growing up and is smart enough to know what's going on around her. ;)

Sorry I haven't posted a lot in the past week. We've had a lot going on. My parents moved closer to us. Yay! =) So we've tried to help out with that as much as possible. And we've just had a lot of personal things going on as a family. So I'll use that statement as a request for prayer for us.

Poor Presley has a stomach bug :( On Monday she had a fever of 101.8 but no other symptoms. Then on Friday, she had a bit of tummy troubles. Today, well today.....it hit hard! Poor baby is all I can say! Her stomach was so sick today! The only things I could get her to eat were a banana and some saltines. She doesn't like juice, so I figured that she wouldn't like flavored pedialyte. We got unflavored pedialyte, but she still didn't like it. Guess we should have gotten some flavor! Presley did drink 3 bottles, so I was grateful that she got some fluids in. I'm not sure where she picked this up from. The only thing I can think of is the nursery at church. Oh well, I know kids get sick, but it is not fun to see your baby sick!

you know you have a wonderful child when...

even though they are sick with snot pouring out of their nose, they still give you a big smile!

That's right, Presley got her first cold. She woke up yesterday coughing and it progressed to sneezing and a runny nose. Her temp had been just like a low grade fever, but last night she was 101. Poor baby! She looks like she doesn't feel good at all, but she is pretty much still her happy self. She's only been slightly fussier than normal. We gave her some tylenol last night and propped her up in the bed to help her breathe better. She slept great! I hate seeing her like this, but hey, we went FIVE months without getting sick and that's pretty darn good!
