Yay! Double digits!

Holy cow! How did that happen so fast? Only 99 days left until we get to meet Sweet Pea!! =) I know I keep saying this but, time has really flown by!

There is an ultrasound school in town that will give free ultrasounds and put a video of it on a CD for you. I think it's so cool that when Sweet Pea is 5, 15 or even 30 years old, s/he can see what they were like in the womb!! Granted I'm sure the technology will be light years ahead of now when s/he is 30 and this that thrills me so much now, will seem like some lame vinyl record to Sweet Pea. But alas, it's cool in 2009! Hopefully we can go get this done sometime in the next month! Jeremiah hasn't really been able to see many ultrasounds because he was working every Friday when I went to the high-risk OB. So I know he is super excited to be able to see one. I hope Sweet Pea will cooperate and we'll get some good shots!

Well, not much else to report. I'm still feeling good, just tired, but I think that comes with carrying another human inside of ya!!

Sweet Pea's stylin' ride and other news

So here is the car seat. I'm absolutely in love with it...never thought I'd feel that way about a car seat! But hey it might save my sweet baby's life one day! It feels really weird that it will be the thing that carries our baby home someday soon. I feel like it's someone else's and they are just storing it at our house! I'm expecting these strangers to just come pick it up, along with all of the other baby stuff, any day now!!! =)
Sorry it's been awhile since I have blogged...we've just been really busy with, well life in general! However some of that busyness includes finalizing paint details for the nursery! Yay! We're just waiting on my dad to get home in about 2 weeks to get started actually painting. Of course I'll post pictures as soon as we are done.
In other news, I've been officially released from the high-risk OB (another yAy!) So now the only appointments I will have will be with my regular OB. My next appt is April 21st, in which I'll have to drink some awful disgusting drink and then get blood work drawn to see if I have gestational diabetes. Which considering how MUCH I love sugar, would be a total drag, if I actually did have it. Oh well, if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it, right?! Anywho, after that particular appt, my appt's with my regular OB will be every 2 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. That is because I'll be in my third (and final!) trimester and they like to watch you a little closer.
Sorry I've rambled on! I just had a lot to say I guess!

25 weeks = rutabaga

So here is the info for 25 weeks, a day early, I know! The coin in the picture is a quarter for reference.

How your baby's growing;

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

I think it's so awesome that Sweet Pea has hair now! I wonder if it will be black like mine and Jeremiah's hair was. Hmmmm....things to think about!

Sweet Pea's welcome home ensemble?

I love these two little outfits! I think they are BOTH just adorable! I can definitely see my baby girl in this dress with some pink Mary Janes on her feet. And I can also equally see my little man in this alligator get-up! Oooooohhhhh my goodness, all of the adorable things they have for babies, it's a wonder we haven't gone bankrupt yet. Seriously!

First belly pic post

So this is my 24 week belly shot. I started taking pictures when I was 13 weeks along, but honestly there was no baby to my belly at all. So I decided not to post any until I was farther along and other people were able to distinguish a round "bump". Since I've had 2 different strangers ask me if I am pregnant within the last couple of weeks, I guess that's enough of a sign to post a pic! So here it is in all its glory. And I personally think the stripes on the shirt make the belly look rounder too...but maybe I'm just justifying all of the ice cream intake! =)

24 weeks = Ear of Corn!

Man these 24 weeks have flown by! This baby actually seems like more of a reality now than in the beginning. I guess because I've had to make final decisions about everything vs just being able to dream about it! And the fact that s/he moves ALL the time! Sweet Pea definitely lets me know that s/he is really real! I'm so ready for July to get here...but I know the time will continue to fly by and before I know it, I'll be the mother of a teenager...yikes! =)

How your baby's growing: (from babycenter.com)

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Sweet Pea is...

Still a surprise! And weighing in at 1 pound and 5 ounces! I went to the doctor yesterday and everything still looks great. We will see the high-risk OB for two more visits and then he will release us, granted everything remains okay. I have great faith that it will be! Our family has definitely been blessed because through all the storms we've weathered, God has always been there for us!

Baby Furniture, part 2

We had already received the crib when we got the dresser and hutch last week. Well, the crib turned out to be a lighter color than expected anyway, and the dresser and hutch were two totally different colors. The crib was a different brand than the dresser and hutch so I should have expected that it wouldn't match. BUT the dresser and hutch were the same brand and still two different colors. It is so frustrating to think that you are done with a really tough decision and low and behold you are not! We decided just to send it all back and completely start over. So I'm back to square one with picking furniture out. Jeremiah says he doesn't care one way or the other, so it's up to me! I don't mind, because at least if something looks bad, I only have myself to blame! I'll post pics of the new furniture as soon a decision is made!

23 weeks = mango

So I know I'm technically posting this with 2.5 hours to go until I'm 23 weeks. But tommorrow starts 3 nights of work and I usually don't post in between them. So here is some info for tonight!
From babycenter.com-

How your baby's growing:
Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

Never too early to read a good book!

So it kinda makes me feel like a dork to read aloud to Sweet Pea by myself! So...Jeremiah and I read the books aloud together, that way, we are kind-of reading to each other too! One of my favorite books is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. A good friend gave it to us tonight and I'm so excited to read it to little pea! I must say for only being in existence for 22 weeks, Sweet Pea has a good book collection already! S/he is probably already asleep by the time we read books at night, but that's okay, just unconsciously hearing our voices has to be good too!

Newest pictures!

Here are the latest pictures of Sweet Pea. S/he was sucking a finger or a thumb in the first one! We got one little shot of it and then s/he knew someone was watching and stopped! The other picture is of his/her big foot...it is already approximately 2.5 cm which is an inch long! So cute! When I go to the doctor's office next Friday, they will do measurements of his/her head, arms, and legs and see how much little pea approximately weighs. At 20 weeks, s/he was 13 oz., and according to all of my baby books, s/he was only supposed to weigh 10.5 oz! I think we might have a babyzilla on our hands! Ha ha! Just kidding...as long as little pea is healthy we don't care. =)

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!

I really cannot get enouch ice cream! I love it in any form....Frostys, shakes, sundaes, splits, and of course, right out of the carton! Flavor doesn't even matter! Although sometimes I do have a preference of one over the other! But in general I love it! Yummmm....just writing about it makes my mouth salivate for it! It's funny because people always ask me what I've been craving, and I always say nothing in particular. I guess because I've never really thought about it as a craving...I have always liked ice cream. But I can FOR SURE now say ice cream is a craving! On that note, I think I'll go have a bowl of ice cream! =)
